WE WELCOME YOUR DONATION
FAMILY AND COMMUNITY CONFERENCES
Through the years YFCR has
conducted, or participated in, three
conferences .
The first was with Dr. Tony Evans of
Dallas, Texas. When attending a
speech by President George VV. Bush
at Dr. Evans' Church in 2004. We
arranged for him coming to Gary, Indiana,
for a two day conference.
Accompanying Dr, Evans was the
famous Englishman orator, Dr, Stuart
Briscoe.
The next: conference featured the late
Tom Skinner vvho President
Jimmie Carter's personal confidant
came to visit. We had
Tom in Gary for nine days. My wife
and I arranged this conference with
the help of a friend. Finally, two years
before the death of Dr. E.V. Hill, that
dynamic preacher from Los Angeles
and counselor of the late, great,
President Ronald Reagan. Dr, EV.
Hill. , came to Gary, Indiana. Bennie
had spent time with him in Amsterdam.

evangelists with Billy Graham and his
association.
After YFCR acquired the building, time
and efforts were redirected to
developing the school and
concentrating on the 200 children and
their families. Maintaining the building took center
stage, and large scale conferences were not conducted
except for yearly parent seminars.
There were simply no funds for community
conferences. We would like to resume community
conferences, but funds are needed for this program.
GENERAL STATEMENT
We have been working with the community; parents, kids and teenagers for 35 years and counting. Our
aim is to demonstrate a positive lifestyle for them and their families, Socially (establishing good
relationships) physically (teaching them about health) economically (teaching them about hard work and
making and managing money) educationally (showing the value of study and good grades in today's world)
and last, but not least, morally (sharing with them the importance of honesty, integrity, fairness and
forgiveness ). We started working in our home with a few kids. It did not take long before we outgrew that
small space. We now provide services for up to 200 youth per day in our 50,000 sq. ft. building. We have
occupied the building for over 13 years now.
HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT
We have been in the service of helping children since September 1973 and have been a not-for-profit 5Ol (c) 3
organization since 1989. We provide a variety of after school and year round programs we have a full day
childcare and pre-school, and SaleslManagement training for the older children ... Our organization is a
registered provider with the Lake County Child Care Voucher Program and the State of Indiana Division of
Children and Family Services (FSSA). YFCR has full insurance coverage and we are licensed under the State of
Indiana. We are state inspected and evaluated several times a year. YFCR understands the importance of
networking with the public and private school system, the community and parents in order to resolve
educational and delinquent behavior.At this time we employ 14 full and part time staff.
